SDGs in NUST at 2022

The NUST has shown its commitment to solving pressing problems including poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and climate change by adopting the SDGs. It also represents a dedication to preparing students to have a positive impact in their local communities and the world at large via the application of the knowledge and skills they acquire. The university can play a crucial role in reaching the SDGs and creating a more sustainable future for Thi-Qar, Iraq, and the world through research, education, and collaboration.‎ To achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability, the United Nations has established a series of goals known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address some of the world’s most pressing problems. In 2016, the United Nations adopted these targets as part of the 2031 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They offer a road map for nations, groups, and institutions to collaborate for global justice, prosperity, and sustainability.‎ By adopting and aligning with the SDGs, the NUST is promising to take an all-encompassing approach to its mission of promoting sustainable development through its teaching, research, and everyday operations. It involves incorporating sustainability concepts into a wide range of university activities, from teaching and research to administration and outreach to the local community.‎
