First Aid and Emergency Response

The Scientific Affairs Department at the National University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Alpha Medical Academy, is organizing a workshop titled "First Aid and Emergency Response" on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the university campus from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
The workshop agenda includes:
- An overview of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), emphasizing its importance and the need for everyone to learn this life-saving technique.
- Training on taking an accurate medical history, a key component in diagnosing and determining the correct treatment for patients.
- Introduction to first aid, highlighting its importance for all individuals.
- Handling emergency injuries (bleeding, fractures, burns, shocks, poisoning, drowning, and other critical situations), including instruction on CPR.
- Measuring blood pressure with a mercury sphygmomanometer, understanding normal ranges, high/low blood pressure, and their health implications.
- Blood sugar measurement, including types of blood sugar, normal ranges, risks associated with high and low levels, and their potential effects on health.
This workshop aims to equip participants with essential first aid and emergency response skills, enhancing their ability to manage critical situations effectively.
