The first scientific meeting in dentistry

As part of the collaboration between the National University of Science and Technology in Iraq – Dhi Qar, the Dhi Qar Dental Association, the College of Dentistry, and the Continuing Education Center, the first scientific forum in Dentistry was organized. The forum was attended by many dentists and specialists in the field of dentistry. During the forum, several important and contemporary topics were discussed, contributing to the development of skills and expertise among dentists and increasing scientific awareness in the field of dentistry in Dhi Qar.

The forum included a series of important lectures, each addressing key issues in the field of dentistry:

Lecture titled "Regenerative Technique for Soft Tissue Enhancement Around Implants"
Presented by Prof. Dr. Naveed Sharif Zada, who discussed regenerative techniques for enhancing soft tissues around dental implants. Dr. Zada explained the use of biomembranes and biomaterials to stimulate tissue growth and improve its quality.

Lecture titled "How I Treat Challenging Endodontic Cases"
Presented by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussein Nikafour, who shared insights on how to manage challenging endodontic cases, such as curved, fractured, or previously treated roots. He discussed the necessary steps and techniques for successfully treating such cases, providing examples of successfully treated cases.

Lecture titled "The Etching Conundrum: How to Effectively Use Universal Adhesives"
Presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Reza Ranbajbar Hasani, who focused on how to use universal adhesives effectively in dental treatments, explaining the challenges dentists face in preparing tooth surfaces for universal adhesives and how to overcome these challenges using specific techniques and tools.

Lecture titled "Facial Rehabilitation of the Patient with Bell's Palsy by Low-Level Laser Bio-Stimulation"
Presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Mohsen Al-Yasiri, who discussed the use of low-level laser therapy for the facial rehabilitation of patients with Bell's palsy. He explained how this technique stimulates tissue growth and improves blood circulation, oxygenation, and nutrient flow to the affected tissues, aiding in the restoration of facial movement.

Lecture titled "Simplifying Procedures to Bypass the Ledge"
Presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Munir Sahib, who discussed how to overcome obstacles, such as ledges, that may occur during endodontic procedures. He explained techniques for bypassing these obstacles and simplifying procedures, ensuring efficient and effective root canal treatment.

Lecture titled "A Conservative Modality for Restoring Endodontically Treated Teeth"
Presented by Dr. Maytham Yahya Al-Tufayli, who introduced a new conservative method for restoring teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment. The method focuses on preserving as much of the natural tooth structure as possible and avoiding the need for surgical or cosmetic interventions. Dr. Al-Tufayli provided examples of cases successfully treated with this method.

The forum served as an important platform for sharing knowledge and enhancing the skills of dental professionals in Dhi Qar.
