Drugs and Their Health, Psychological, and Social Effects

The National University of Science and Technology's Continuing Education Center held an awareness seminar titled "Drugs and Their Health, Psychological, and Social Effects" on January 23, 2022.

The seminar, organized and moderated by Dr. Khansa Ouda Hussein from the National University of Science and Technology, featured several distinguished speakers:

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Abbas Ghadeeb Shati from the College of Education for Human Sciences, who discussed the educational and psychological dimensions of drug abuse.
  • Colonel Riyadh Issa Kazem, a Drug Control Officer, who shared insights on law enforcement efforts and preventive measures.
  • Dr. Osama Kazem Radi from the National University of Science and Technology, who examined the societal implications of drug addiction.
  • Dr. Hashim Khalaf Jasim Al-Humaidawi from the Iraqi Correctional Services, who provided perspectives on the rehabilitation of drug users.

This seminar aimed to foster awareness about the risks associated with drug use and its impact on individual well-being and society, emphasizing collaborative efforts in prevention, rehabilitation, and societal protection.
