World No Tobacco Day

As part of the National University of Science and Technology's commitment to celebrating global and international days recognized by the United Nations General Assembly, the university is preparing to observe World No Tobacco Day, which falls on Monday, May 31, 2023. The event will feature awareness posters displayed on screens throughout the university.

This day aims to raise awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco use and encourage individuals to quit smoking. The campaigns launched on this day provide an important opportunity to enhance awareness of the health, social, and economic harms caused by smoking. They also seek to encourage governments to implement strict laws regulating smoking areas and offer necessary support for smokers wishing to quit, including providing medical, psychological, and behavioral services that contribute to improving public health and achieving sustainable development goals.
