National University Dentistry Students Volunteer at Elderly Care Homes, Providing Medical Support
Students from the College of Dentistry at National University have recently embarked on a volunteer mission to provide medical care and support to the elderly residents of local nursing homes in Dhi Qar province.
As part of their community outreach initiative, the dental students conducted free dental check-ups, offered preventive care, and educated elderly residents on maintaining oral hygiene. The students, supervised by their faculty members, also provided essential medical advice, addressing common health concerns among the elderly population.
This initiative aimed not only to enhance the quality of life for the elderly but also to instill a sense of social responsibility in the students, emphasizing the importance of healthcare outreach to underserved communities.
The residents expressed deep gratitude for the care and attention they received, while the student volunteers highlighted the significance of such humanitarian efforts in their professional and personal development. The event reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to serving the community and supporting vulnerable groups
